Tour Summary

This trip would take you to the famed Etosha national park known world over for its wide variety of animals and Damaraland in Namid desert showcasing the rare petrified forest alongside Twyfelfontein, the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the first phase of your trip you would witness elephants, lion, cheetah and different ungulates in an extremely harsh dry salty Etosha park. The second phase would offer otherworldly beauty of petrified forest, sand dunes, granite peaks and stone colonies.

DAY 1

Arrival And Transfer To Hotel

On arrival at windhoek you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy dinner at your hotel restaurant which offers western food. You may step out in the township, go around, enjoy a sundowner or try the local cuisine.

DAY 2

Etosha National Park

After breakfast and a short city tour you depart leisurely for the world-renowned Etosha National Park. A 5/6 hours’ drive takes you to this reserve of wildlife located amidst salt pan and a collection of natural springs.

You spend the rest of the day watching animals of different sizes right from elephants and lions to the smallest of meercat. You find most of them around the natural springs and waterholes in an otherwise dry salty landscape.

DAY 3

Damaraland

A short morning game drive after breakfast energises you and then you head south-west. A 4/5 hours’ drive takes you to the ruggedly beautiful Damaraland known world over for its otherworldly petrified forest. With its sandy arid landscape, strewn with huge pieces of rock and petrified forest stretching in the horizon Damaraland is a visual wonder.

In the afternoon you undertake a safari in search of the rare desert adapted Elephants. As evening approaches you witness the famous breath-taking vista of Damaraland getting bathed in the setting sun’s pastel illuminance.

DAY 4

Damaraland To Spitzkoppe

After breakfast you visit the Twyfelfontein World Heritage Site and Damara Living Museum. You would find here one of the biggest collections of rock art and engravings done thousands of years ago by the indigenous San people. Thereafter you proceed to Ozohere Campsite to enjoy a light lunch and then visit a Himba tribe village.

After this you arrive in camp for a short rest and then set off for a sundowner walk onto the landmark Spitzkoppe boulders, a group of bald granite peaks or inselbergs.

DAY 5

Windhoek

A Enjoy your breakfast and then a leisurely drive back to Windhoek to catch your overseas flight. Time permitting you may also explore the city on foot and/or buy souvenirs / gift for friends and family back home. You would be dropped at Windhoek International Airport, in time for your flight.

It is a fort that was built by the Germans in the 1900s and subsequently taken over by the British.
